Timers and Counters Report

The Timers & Counters Report displays timing data and counter values recorded during performances. This report is essential for reviewing penalty-related timing information, boundary violations, and other quantitative measurements from the competition.

Accessing the Report

  1. Navigate to your event's competition
  2. Click Reports in the competition navigation
  3. Select Timers & Counters from the sidebar

Understanding the Report

The report is organized by division and shows all timer and counter data for each performance.

Report Structure

The report displays:

  • Division Header - The division name
  • Round Name - If the division has multiple rounds (shown in italics)
  • Data Table - Timer and counter values for each group

Table Columns

Column Type Description
Group Name First column, identifies the performing group
Timer Columns Time values recorded (displayed in mm:ss format)
Separator Empty column separating timers from counters
Counter Columns Count values recorded (displayed as numbers)

Timer Values

Timer columns display time in minutes:seconds format (e.g., "7:45" for 7 minutes and 45 seconds).

Common timer uses include:

  • Show Time - Total performance duration
  • Set Time - Time for equipment setup
  • Exit Time - Time to clear the floor
  • Warm-up Time - Pre-performance preparation

Counter Values

Counter columns display numeric values representing counts recorded during the performance.

Common counter uses include:

  • Boundary Violations - Number of times performers crossed boundaries
  • Equipment Drops - Number of prop or equipment drops
  • Falls - Number of performer falls
  • Penalty Items - Any countable penalty occurrences

Performance Status

Rows appear differently based on performance status:

  • Normal text - Group has performed
  • Grayed/inactive - Group has not yet performed (no data recorded)

Empty Values

  • Empty timer cells indicate no time was recorded
  • Empty counter cells indicate zero or no count was recorded
  • Rows with all empty values suggest the group hasn't performed yet

Using the Report

During the Event

  • Monitor timer/counter data entry in real-time
  • Verify timers are being started and stopped correctly
  • Check counter values are being recorded

After the Event

  • Review all penalty-related data
  • Verify accuracy of recorded information
  • Document for appeals or disputes

For Penalty Application

  • Reference when applying time penalties
  • Verify boundary violation counts
  • Cross-check with judge sheets

Timer and Counter Systems

Timer and counter systems are configured at the organization level. The report only displays timers and counters that:

  • Are configured for the scoring system
  • Are not marked as hidden from groups
  • Have been assigned to the competition

Configuring Timers and Counters

If timers or counters are missing from the report:

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon) in your organization
  2. Navigate to Timer Systems or Boundary Systems
  3. Configure the appropriate systems
  4. Assign systems to your scoring system captions
