Approving Member Requests

When someone requests to join a group you administer, you'll receive a notification on your Overview page. This guide explains how to review and respond to these requests.

Finding Pending Requests

Pending member requests appear automatically when you visit your Overview page. Look for a notification indicating you have members waiting for approval.

Reviewing a Request

Each pending request shows:

  • Name/Email - The person requesting access
  • Group - Which group they're requesting to join

Taking Action

For each pending request, you have three options:

Approve as Staff Member

Select this option to grant the person standard staff access to the group. Staff members can:

  • View group information and rosters
  • Access scores and commentary
  • Upload performance music (if enabled)

Approve as Administrator

Select this option to grant full administrative access. Administrators can do everything staff members can, plus:

  • Manage other staff members
  • Update group settings
  • Handle registrations and payments

Only grant administrator access to trusted individuals who need to manage the group.

Reject Request

Select this option if:

  • You don't recognize the person
  • They requested the wrong group
  • Access should not be granted

The person will be notified that their request was not approved.

Best Practices

  • Respond promptly - Members are waiting to access group features
  • Verify identity - Make sure you recognize the person before approving
  • Use appropriate access levels - Only grant administrator access when necessary
  • Communicate - If rejecting, consider reaching out to explain why

Troubleshooting

I don't see any pending requests

  • There may be no pending requests at this time
  • Verify you have administrator access to the group

I approved someone but they still can't access the group

  • Ask them to sign out and sign back in
  • Verify they're using the correct account

  • Adding Staff Members
  • Removing Staff Members
  • Organization Access Level Definitions
