Set up configurations [Optional]
Configurations allow a division in your competition to have a different scoring system from one event to the next.
For instance, for a Cheerleading competition, depending on the event, an organization may have one with 2 judges and others with 3 judges. This is where having different configurations can solve your problem. In this example, you can create two configurations, one for a scoring system with 2 judges and one for 3 judges. Each division can then be assigned the appropriate scoring system for each configuration.
Configurations are also where you can add additional "types" of competitions. For example, if a gymnastics organization decides they want to start having dance competitions, configurations is where they would add "dance" to their organization.
Important: If you think your organization should have multiple configurations, please contact us at support@comptetionsuite.com to help make sure your configurations are set up correctly.
To set up the above-mentioned Cheerleading competition example, you would follow these steps:
- Under the Settings tab, click on Configurations on the left-hand side of the menu.
2. Click on Create a Configuration. Using the drop-down box, select the type of competition and enter a name for this configuration. In this example, we will select "Cheerleading" and use "2 Judge" for the name. Press Save, and repeat this step for "3 Judge". Your configurations are now set and both will show under the Cheerleading label.
3. Now you need to assign a scoring system to each configuration so that the system knows in which scenario to apply the correct scoring.
Click on the Divisions tab in the left-hand menu, then click on Create a Division besides the Cheerleading label. In the pop-up box, you will see the option to name division along with the two configurations we just set up. Beside each configuration, you have a drop-down box to assign the appropriate scoring system. Make sure that your scoring systems are already inputted in the system, for instructions on how to do this see here. Click Save to set the configurations' scoring systems.
