Your Access as a Competitor
As a Competitor, you see specific feedback that your group admin has chosen to share with you. This guide explains what you can access and how the system works.
How Your Access Works
Unlike Staff Members who see everything, your access is personalized. Your group admin decides which judge feedback (captions) to share with you. This means:
- You only see captions your admin has specifically granted you access to
- Different competitors may see different feedback
- Your admin can add more access over time
This approach lets you focus on the feedback that's most relevant to your development.
What You Can See
Shared Captions
On the Performances page, you'll see any captions (judge feedback) your admin has shared with you. Each caption includes:
- The judge's scores
- Written commentary
- Caption name (e.g., "GE" for General Effect)
Notifications
You receive all group notifications, including:
- Schedule updates
- Event announcements
- Group communications
Public Recaps
When recaps are released publicly (not just to the group), you can view them.
What You Cannot Access

If you try to access a restricted feature, you'll see a message explaining that access is limited.
Viewing Your Shared Feedback
- Go to Performances in your group
- Expand a performance to see available feedback
- Only captions shared with you will appear
If a performance shows no captions, it means your admin hasn't shared any feedback for that event yet.
Requesting More Access
The system doesn't have a built-in access request feature. To request access to additional feedback:
- Contact your group admin directly
- Let them know which event or caption you'd like to see
- They can grant access from the Performances page
Checking Which Captions You Can See
The Performances page shows all feedback you have access to. If you expect to see something that isn't appearing:
- Confirm with your admin that access was granted
- Refresh the page
- Check that you're viewing the correct event

Why can't I see all the judge feedback?
Your admin chooses what to share. This approach ensures you receive appropriate, focused feedback.
Will I get access to more feedback over time?
That's up to your admin. Many groups share more feedback as the season progresses.
Can I download videos?
No, video access is not available for Competitors.
Why can I see some recaps but not others?
You can only see recaps that have been released publicly. Group-only recaps require Staff Member access.
How do I become a Staff Member?
Contact your group admin. Only they can change your member type.
