Performance Music FAQ
Here are answers to some frequently asked questions. Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions!
Why can't I upload performance music?
You won't be able to upload performance music if you aren't an administrator for the group or if your type of group isn't enabled for performance music (marching band, percussion, etc.). Please contact your event host or circuit administration if you believe your group should have access to upload performance music or you should be an administrator.
What formats do you support?
You are able to upload performance music in the format of MP3, MP4, and WAV.
Why can't I upload another format (WMA, AAC, etc.)?
CompetitionSuite doesn't do any processing of performance music to ensure the exact file uploaded is exactly what is played. Since other formats aren't compatible with both Mac and PC without additional software, we don't allow them to be uploaded.
I need to make a change to my performance music - how can I be sure the Organization will receive the correct file?
Each Organization sets their own deadline for uploading performance music to CompetitionSuite. It's important that you make sure any changes to your performance music occur before this deadline. If you are unsure of when your deadline is, please consult with your host Organization for assistance. CompetitionSuite will take a "snapshot" of all performance music once the deadline has passed. The Organization will always receive the file that was present as of the upload deadline. Any changes will made after the deadline has passed will not be picked up when the music is downloaded.
