Manage Boundary Systems
This guide covers how to edit, update, and remove boundary systems in your organization.
Viewing Your Boundary Systems
- Navigate to your organization
- Click Settings in the top-right menu
- Under Timing & Penalties Setup in the left sidebar, select Boundary Systems
The page displays all boundary systems organized by group type. Each panel shows:
- The group type name in the header
- A list of boundary systems for that group type
- A "Create a Boundary System" button
If a group type has no boundary systems configured, you'll see the message: "There are no boundary systems configured!"

Removing a Boundary System
If you no longer need a boundary system, you can remove it from your organization.
Step 1: Open the Boundary System

Important: This action cannot be undone. Once removed, you will need to recreate the boundary system if you need it again.
Best Practices
Naming Conventions
Use consistent, descriptive names across your boundary systems:
| Good Names | Avoid |
|---|---|
| Standard Floor (45x60) | Floor 1 |
| Competition Tarp - Blue | New boundary |
| Indoor Arena - Main | Boundary |
| Regional Venue A | test |
Managing Multiple Venues
If you use different boundaries at different venues:
- Create a separate boundary system for each venue
- Include the venue name in the boundary system name
- Use the same penalty value unless rules differ by venue
Seasonal Updates
At the start of each season:
- Review existing boundary systems for accuracy
- Update images if performance area dimensions have changed
- Verify penalty values match current rules
- Remove any boundary systems no longer in use
Image Version Control
When updating boundary images:
- Keep backups of previous boundary images locally
- Document any dimension or layout changes
- Communicate changes to judges and staff before events
Troubleshooting
Boundary System Won't Save
- Verify all required fields (name, image) are filled in
- Check that the penalty value is a valid number
- Ensure the image is the correct size (475x250 pixels)
Wrong Boundary Showing at Events
- Verify you've selected the correct boundary system in the event settings
- Check that the boundary system is assigned to the correct group type
- Confirm the boundary image was uploaded correctly
Image Not Displaying
- Try re-uploading the image
- Ensure the image format is PNG, JPG, or GIF
- Check that the file isn't corrupted
