Spiel Sheets

Spiel Sheets provide announcers with ready-to-read scripts for each performing group at a competition. All group-specific information is automatically populated from data the groups have submitted, giving announcers accurate, consistent introductions.

Accessing Spiel Sheets

  1. Navigate to your event
  2. Select the competition
  3. Click Announcer in the competition menu
  4. Select Spiel Sheets from the sidebar

The Spiel Sheets page is available to users with Event Access permissions.

Page Overview

The Spiel Sheets page displays all performing groups organized by division and round, matching the performance order. Each group entry shows:

  • Group name - The performing group
  • Status indicator - Shows if any data is missing (red "spiel incomplete" badge)
  • View Spiel Sheet button - Opens the full script for that group

Viewing Individual Spiel Sheets

  1. Find the group in the performance list
  2. Click View Spiel Sheet
  3. A popup displays the complete script with all variables filled in

The script includes:

  • Any static text written in the template
  • Dynamic values automatically inserted (group name, location, show title, etc.)
  • Missing data indicated as *** No response *** in red text

Close the popup by clicking Close when finished.

When to Print

  • As a backup in case of technology issues
  • For announcers who prefer paper copies
  • For archival or record-keeping purposes

Understanding Missing Data

When a group hasn't submitted information for a field used in the spiel script:

Indicator Location Meaning
Red "spiel incomplete" badge Group listing One or more fields are missing
*** No response *** in red Within the script The specific location of missing data

Handling Missing Data

If a group's script shows missing information:

  1. Contact the group - Ask them to submit the required data in their group settings
  2. Skip the section - Announcers can skip over missing parts when reading
  3. Improvise - Announcers can fill in if they know the information

No Script Configured

If you see a "No Spiel Script" message:

  • A spiel script template hasn't been configured for your organization
  • Contact your organization administrator
  • They need to create a script in Settings > Spiel Scripts

Division and Round Organization

Groups are displayed grouped by:

  1. Division - Panel headers show the division name
  2. Round (if applicable) - Subdivided within divisions if multiple rounds exist
  3. Performance order - Groups listed in their scheduled performance sequence

This organization helps announcers quickly locate the next group's script.

Best Practices

Before the Event

  • Review all spiel sheets to identify missing data
  • Contact groups with incomplete information
  • Print backup copies for emergencies
  • Test the print function before event day

During the Event

  • Keep the Spiel Sheets page open on a tablet or laptop
  • Use the View Spiel Sheet button to see one script at a time
