Video Download Restrictions
The Video Restrictions section allows you to limit how many times performance videos can be downloaded. This is useful for controlling video distribution and protecting performance content.
Accessing Video Restrictions
- Navigate to your Organization > Events > select your Event
- Click Setup in the event navigation
- Click Video Restrictions in the sidebar
Note: This option is disabled for Training events and requires video access to be enabled for your organization.
Settings
Restrict Downloads
Toggle download restrictions on or off:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Yes | Download limits are enforced |
| No | Unlimited downloads allowed |
Maximum Downloads
When restrictions are enabled, set the download limit:
- Enter a number in the Maximum Downloads field
- This is the total number of downloads allowed per video
- Once reached, additional downloads are blocked
Saving Settings
- Configure your options
- Click Save Video Download Restrictions
- Verify the confirmation message
How It Works
When restrictions are enabled:
- Each performance video tracks its download count
- Users receive a warning as they approach the limit
- Once the limit is reached, downloads are blocked
- Organization administrators can view download counts
Typical Limits
Common download limit configurations:
| Scenario | Suggested Limit |
|---|---|
| Single group viewing | 1-3 downloads |
| Staff review | 5-10 downloads |
| No restriction needed | Leave disabled |
Disabled State
Video Restrictions appear disabled when:
- The event is a Training event
- Your organization doesn't have video features enabled
- The event hasn't been configured for video
Common Scenarios
Preventing Video Sharing
To limit distribution:
- Enable restrictions
- Set a low limit (e.g., 2-3)
- Groups get their own view but can't easily share
Allowing Re-downloads
If a group needs additional downloads:
- Contact support to reset their count
- Or increase the overall limit
- Changes apply to all groups
No Restrictions Needed
If video protection isn't a concern:
- Set "Restrict Downloads" to No
- Groups can download as many times as needed
