Viewing Scores and Recaps

After competing, you can access your detailed scores and the competition recap to understand your performance results.

Accessing Score Summary

The Score Summary provides a detailed breakdown of your individual performance scores.

Steps to View

  1. Go to Events > Past Events in your group
  2. Select a year from the sidebar
  3. Find the performance you want to review
  4. Click View Score Summary in the panel footer

Score Summary Contents

The summary typically includes:

Section Description
Categories Major scoring areas (e.g., General Effect, Visual)
Captions Specific scoring elements within categories
Subcaptions Detailed breakdown within captions
Judge Scores Individual scores from each judge
Total Score Your final score for the performance

Understanding Your Scores

  • Scores are organized hierarchically: Category > Caption > Subcaption
  • Each level shows how it contributes to your total
  • Some scoring systems include penalties or bonuses

Accessing the Recap

The Recap shows all competitors' scores from a competition, allowing you to see where you placed relative to other groups.

Steps to View

  1. Go to Events > Past Events in your group
  2. Select a year from the sidebar
  3. Find the performance you want to review
  4. Click View Recap in the panel footer

Recap Contents

A typical recap includes:

Column Description
Place/Rank Final standing in the competition
Group Name Competing organization
Total Score Overall score
Caption Scores Individual scores by category
Spread Point difference from first place

Recap Availability

The "View Recap" link may appear grayed out if:

  • The organization hasn't published the recap yet
  • The recap isn't available to groups
  • The competition hasn't been fully scored

Contact the event organization if you need access to a recap that isn't available.

Private vs. Public Recaps

Private Recap

When you click "View Recap" as a group member, you see the private recap:

  • Shows only your division or round
  • May include additional detail
  • Only accessible to authenticated users

Public Recap

Some organizations publish public recaps:

  • Available without login
  • May be shared on social media
  • Typically shows less detail

If a public recap exists, you may be redirected to the public version automatically.

Using Scores for Improvement

Identify Patterns

  • Look for consistently lower scores across events
  • Compare scores between judges to understand scoring tendencies
  • Track improvement over the season

Focus Areas

  • Categories with the largest point gaps
  • Captions where you lost the most ground to competitors
  • Areas where judges' scores varied significantly

Timeline Review

Compare your scores across multiple events in a season to track progress and identify trends.

Troubleshooting

"View Recap" Not Clickable

The recap hasn't been published yet. Contact your circuit or event host if you believe it should be available.

Score Summary Not Loading

  • Ensure you have an active internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page
  • The score data may still be processing

Scores Missing or Incomplete

  • Some competitions use partial scoring
  • Awards or special recognitions may not appear in standard scores
  • Contact the organization for clarification
