Division Settings Reference

This guide covers all available settings when creating or editing a division. Access division settings by clicking on an existing division in the Divisions list or creating a new one.


Score Systems Tab

Assign scoring systems to competition types for this division.

Setting Description
Competition Type dropdown Select the scoring system that applies to each competition type

Note: You must have created scoring systems before they appear in these dropdowns. Shared scoring systems from other organizations will appear with the organization's initials prefix.


Caption Sheets Tab

Available only when editing an existing division

Upload reference documents (caption sheets) for judges to review. Caption sheets are organized by the scoring system's captions.

Uploading a Caption Sheet

  1. Select the Caption Sheets tab
  2. Find the caption name you want to upload a sheet for
  3. Click the upload icon (cloud with up arrow)
  4. Select your file from your computer
  5. Wait for the upload progress bar to complete

Downloading a Caption Sheet

  1. Click the download icon (cloud with down arrow) next to the caption
  2. The file will open in a new browser tab/window

Tip: Icons appear gray when no file is uploaded, and change color after an action is taken.


Recap Tab

Configure how scores and placements appear on recap sheets for this division.

Can Scores Be Published

Option Description
Yes Scores for this division can be released to groups and public pages
No Scores cannot be released (useful for exhibition divisions)

Recap Ordering

Controls the order groups appear on recap sheets for each round:

Option Description
Performance Order Groups listed in the order they performed
Rank Order Groups listed by their placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)

Configure separately for:

  • Prelims
  • Semifinals
  • Finals

Mixed Division Settings

These settings only appear when "Mixed Division" is enabled in the Advanced tab

Division Initials Visibility

Show or hide the division initials on recap sheets for each round.

Division Placement Visibility

Show or hide the placement within the division on recap sheets.

Overall Placement Visibility

Show or hide the overall placement across all divisions on recap sheets.


Advanced Tab

Additional configuration options for specialized use cases.

Mixed Division

Option Description
Yes Division contains groups from multiple sub-divisions competing together
No Standard division with groups competing only within this division

When enabled, additional recap settings become available for controlling how division-specific information displays on recap sheets.

Display in Pages

Option Description
Yes Division appears on public-facing pages
No Division is hidden from public pages

Rating System

Select a rating system if your division uses ratings in addition to or instead of scores. Rating systems must be created before they appear here.

Timer System

Assign a timer configuration for timed performances. Timer systems must be created before they appear here.

Counter System

Assign a counter configuration for tracking specific elements during performances. Counter systems must be created before they appear here.

Boundary System

Assign a boundary configuration for floor/field boundary rules. Boundary systems must be created before they appear here.


Editing a Division

  1. From the Divisions page, click on the division name
  2. Make your changes in the modal that appears
  3. Click Save to apply changes

Archiving a Division

If you no longer need a division but want to preserve its historical data:

  1. Click on the division to open the edit modal
  2. Click the Archive button
  3. Confirm the action when prompted

Archived divisions appear grayed out in the list and are hidden from event setup. You can unarchive a division at any time to restore it.
