Event Scoring Overview

The Event Scoring page is your central hub for monitoring and managing scores during a competition. From here, you can view all performance scores in real-time, lock scores for finalization, manually adjust scores when needed, and control which performances appear on the recap.

Accessing Event Scoring

  1. Navigate to your Organization
  2. Select the Event you want to manage
  3. Click Scoring in the event navigation menu

Page Layout

Division/Round Navigation

When your event has multiple divisions or rounds, a sidebar menu appears on the left side of the page. Use this menu to:

  • Select All Divisions to view every performance
  • Click a specific Division or Round to filter the view

Your selection is remembered, so returning to the page will show the same division/round you were previously viewing.

Performance Cards

Each performance is displayed as a card showing:

Element Description
Group Name The competing group's name
Location Performance location (if applicable)
Total Score The calculated total score for the performance
Status Indicators Visual indicators showing lock and verification status

Performance Card Colors

The card border indicates the overall status of the performance:

  • Green border - All scores are verified
  • Red border - One or more scores have been rejected
  • Yellow/Orange border - Performance is hidden from recap or marked as not performed
  • Default (gray) - Scores are in progress or awaiting verification

Action Icons

Each performance card includes action icons in the header:

Calculator Open the Modify Score modal to manually enter or adjust scores
Eye / Eye-Slash Open Recap Visibility settings to control whether the performance appears on the recap
Lock / Unlock Lock all scores for this performance at once
Chevron Up/Down Expand or collapse the performance details

Caption Details

When a performance card is expanded, you'll see detailed scoring information organized by caption (judge assignment):

Judge Information

  • Judge initials and full name
  • Caption name (e.g., "Visual", "Music", "General Effect")
  • Caption score

Subcaption Scores

Each subcaption shows:

  • Subcaption name and raw score
  • Check mark (green) - Score has been verified
  • X mark (red) - Score has been rejected
  • Check mark (gray) - Awaiting verification
  • Lock icon - Click to lock/unlock this individual subcaption score

Additional Score Elements

Depending on your scoring system configuration, you may also see:

  • Timers - Time-based scores displayed in MM:SS format
  • Counters - Numeric counts (e.g., penalty counts)
  • Boundary Infractions - Count of boundary infractions recorded

Training Captions

Training captions appear with a yellow background and a "training" label. These are used for training judges and:

  • Do not count toward the official score
  • Do not affect the verified/rejected status of the performance

Real-Time Updates

The Scoring page updates automatically when:

  • Judges submit or update scores from their tablets
  • Scores are locked or unlocked
  • Verification status changes

You do not need to refresh the page to see the latest information.

Quick Actions

At the bottom of each expanded performance card, click View Score Summary to open a detailed score breakdown in a new tab. This provides a printer-friendly view of all scores for that performance.

Collapse/Expand Performances

  • Click the chevron icon on any performance to collapse or expand its details
  • Collapsed performances show only the header with the group name and score
  • Your collapse preferences are saved for 24 hours

Empty State

If you see the message "There aren't any scores to display!", verify that:

  • Judges have been assigned to the competition
  • Groups are registered and set up to compete in this event
